Hero In Heels

Recycle Heroes Program

Program:

The Hero in Heels Fashion Fundraiser was created by
the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation to raise money to benefit women who are affected by cancer.

About the Program:

It’s no secret, women LOVE shoes. It seemed natural to channel this passion for shoes to support a worthy cause. So the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation created the Hero in Heels Fashion Fundraiser which benefits women affected by cancer.

Hero in Heels is an annual fashion show held every spring where famous celebrity women donate a signed pair of shoes for the auction. The money raised will support women who are suffering with cancer. It's great publicity for a great cause.

Here's our goal. Our goal is to collect 50 signed shoes from top female celebrities for our 2010 fashion event. The average female celebrity has a closet full of incredible footwear. Most of those shoes are worn only a few times before they return to sitting on a shelf collecting dust. The Hero in Heels program is a great way to put that pair of beautiful shoes back into spotlight while raising money for an important cause.

Here's what you need to know...

  1. The shoes must be in good physical condition. Some bidders don't care whose shoes they are, they just want to bid on a pair Roberto Cavalli heels.
  2. Sign the shoe inside or underneath. Use a permanent ink marker.
  3. Send us the "good stuff"! Elite trendy shoes will generate a higher bid and ultimately raise more money for the cause.
  4. Send in an 8 x 10 signed photo that will be displayed next to your shoes.
  5. Your name, the shoe brand, and the shoe size will be featured on the website and the program. It's great publicity.

Recycle Heroes Program

How you can help. If you are already a celebrity and you have an amazing pair of beautiful shoes collecting dust in your closet, then send them to us. If you KNOW a celebrity, then ask them if they would like to donate one of the many hundreds of shoes they own. Tell them it's time to "recycle fashion" for a good cause.

"My Mother has been diagnosed with Stage IIB Grade 3 Breast Cancer. It was in a lymph node and was 3CM large. She has had a masectomy and is getting her portacath put in Friday to get ready for chemo. The chemo will make her hair fall out. She is fighting for me and for my son (her grandson). He is 3 years old. She wants to see him grow up. I do not have the money to get her the wig."
The Wish Upon A Hero Foundation purchased this wig.
