On June 30, 19 members of the Prescott Fire Department’s Granite Mountain Hotshots were killed while fighting the Yarnell Hill fire. These young heroes ranged in age from 21 to 43 and many left behind wives and children. We are raising money to help support these families. The fire department lost 20% of its firefighters on this tragic day, the deadliest day for firefighters since 9/11. Our goal is raise $1,000 for each of the 19 families; however, we want to give them more. Please show your support for these heroes and their families.

When the Palm Harbor University High School Hero Club came across a wish posted by a middle/high school teacher looking for school, art and science supplies for her school, these philanthropic students took advantage of a great opportunity to help out another school in need. The school was located in a small rural county within a high poverty area.  This wish was asking for used, basic school, art, and science supplies such as: notebooks, computer paper, book bags, memo pads, pens, pencils, tape, glue, construction paper, clip boards, books, or stray index cards.

This is the first wish grant by the Palm Harbor University High School Hero Club located in Palm Harbor, Florida.  While hosting the first meeting with all of their Hero Club members they decided to put the time to good use making birthday cards for Erik, a 10 year old boy who was recently adopted from Ukraine.  This year was his first birthday party ever.  He has never had a party or even a card for his birthday. In Ukraine children living in an orphanage would normally get their favorite meal for dinner and some candies for their birthday, but that was it.

A young family experiencing some health issues needed assistance for their 2 year old daughter Tatum. Tatum has a rare disease called Angelman Syndrome. One of her struggles is the lack of speech which makes it difficult to find out what she needs.  It's very important that Tatum learns how to communicate so she can function in everyday life. Tatum has also grown out of her crib, but the family lacks the finances to be able to purchase her a proper safety bed to sleep in so she doesn't wander around the house during the night and get hurt.
