Kingsway Learning Center is a private, non-profit special education school. They have served learning and developmentally challenged students in Southern NJ for 44 years. Kingsway was in need of disposable diapers sizes 5 and 6, along with wipes. Many of the families could barely cover the cost of diapers used at home, as well as some provided by the learning center. These are expensive items, but needed in great numbers each day.

An Art Teacher at a k-8th grade school in Phoenix is a Title One School that is in search of some help. This teacher is in need of some supplies for her art classes. This teacher is the only art teacher and does not have a budget. Many of the supplies she pays for, but her salary was cut the year before. There are over 600 students, so the art supplies go very quickly. Often, art is the only joy these students have while living in their very impoverished conditions. 100% of the students in the art class are on the free meal program.

Having a son with Autism is hard for any parent, including this mother from Wisconsin. She has a 4 1/2 year old boy who is having trouble staying in a booster seat without a 5-point harness. He needs to be put back into one, but is too big for it. He has gained weight due to the steroids given to him to help his breathing as well as other medication given to him. As a smart kid, he has learned to unbuckle his seat belt while his mother is driving, and also has gotten around seat covers and still unbuckles his seat.

Kingsway Learning Center is a private, non-profit special education school. A portion of the students limited outdoor space has been eliminated. The Extended School Year Program includes small kiddie pools for the students to cool off, and is also therapeutic for the students. Because of the space outside being limited, this school now must reort to a small cement area. This causes a safety problem for the students and the school now needs non-slip cushioned mats to place underneath the kiddie pools.

"My sister, Kathleen has down syndrome. She just had open heart surgery for the second time on August 27th. She has been out of school for almost a full month now. Kathleen loves the Disney Channel and, like many girls in her class, her favorite show is Hannah Montana. She is coming to the Atlantic City Boardwalk hall in January and Kathleen keeps asking if we can go. She wants to take me, my mom and my grandmom with her. Hannah Montana is a great role model for kids, especially girls. One of her songs in particular, Who Said, really sends a great message.
