Imagine singing a contract to a house and within hours have everything gone; this is what happened to this Delaware family. This family of 5 was still moving everything into their new home, with mom bathing their 2 year old son when the water tank exploded in the bathroom. The home inspector failed to notice the gas leak from when the repairman fixed the hot water heater hours before the family moved in. After the explosion, the 2-year-old ended up in the backyard with a broken leg.

Imagine having a 3-year-old granddaughter who recently came to live with you. While providing her with clothes, shoes, and other things that she needs, this grandfather is not able to give her what she wants. A swing set for the backyard is something that she asked everyday, "Mom-Mom, when is Pop-Pop going to get my swing set?". This couple kept telling her when the weather gets better that they will try and get her one. With the weather getting better there still isn't enough money left over after bills and payments for this swing set.

Recently retired from the Army and unable to find a job Hurricane Irene wreaked havoc on this veterans home. New rain gutters were needed because the downspout was sending water into the basement. Water also went into his daughters room but when we called the insurance company, they came out and said that the water was from a leaking roof which was not tied into the hurricane. A new roof was also needed.

A catastrophic house fire in Cherry Hill, NJ has caused this family to lose everything except each other. A family with four children, a 9-year-old girl, a 4-year-old girl, and 5-month-old twin boys was in need of help. The house fire caused permanent damage, destroying the house and burning almost everything inside. It is very upsetting to see a family lose everything they worked hard for, and to see it all taken away within minutes. The family decided to turn to the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation in search of some help.
