A mother of 3 in the Chicago area was looking for some help.  One of her twin boys has a rare chromosome deletion (8p23.1 to be exact).  He has similarities of an autistic child, yet is different is other ways as well. He cannot talk yet, has a severe learning delay (evaluated at a 9 month old level) and also has several food allergies. He has been in therapy since he was 15 months old and now attends a special needs pre-school. Her husband works two jobs, but still doesn't make enough to be able to handle the financial needs of his family.

An autistic 15 year old loves music. His grandparents wished for him to see the Transiberian Orchestra when it came to Atlantic City in May. However just for the furthest seats, tickets were $75 a piece. The 15 year old has four other siblings and his father cannot afford to pay for each ticket. Our foundation helped get the family to the orchestra during our Be a Hero cycling event. We know the 15 year old was very excited to attend this event and were happy to have granted another family's wish.

Lenny and Debbie have been Jessica's next door neighbors for almost 3 years now. Debbie is a diabetic and has dialysis 3 days each week. Lenny also has diabetes and other health issues. A couple months ago while Debbie was out she tripped over a rug at D+D's. She ended up breaking her hip and fracturing the bones all down her leg. She went to the hospital and has healed very nicely, but now the rehab center she is in will not let her go home to her loving husband until there is a handicap ramp in the front of their house. Lenny and Debbie unfortunately cannot afford it.

Jamie is a stay at home mom with a 2 year old Autistic child and a 4 year old. Her family had been in the process of applying for social security but until they were approved, they were struggling to provide everything that was recommended by her 2 year old's therapist. She wished for money to buy things, like the chew toys, the weighted vest, a "sensory" table, wooden puzzles, etc, or for someone to even to send her those items.

Addy is currently undergoing aggressive treatment at home and at the hospital which is a three hour drive from her home. She is on a feeding tube for 20 hours a day and receiving chemotherapy twice daily. Addy is quite the fighter. As a result of the long drives Tudy's financial strain is taxing and she wished for money for gasoline.

Spina Bifida, a disorder that is caused by an opening in the spine. When a baby is growing inside a mother, sometimes part of the spine and spinal cord don't grow the way they should, leaving an opening where the spinal cord may protrude outside the body. This horrible birth defect has confined this 8-year-old daughter from Philadelphia to a wheelchair. The limits of this young girl has caused her to struggle with certain things, and it has caused some hardship for her and her mother. This wish was posted to WUAH from a mother in search of getting a lift for her daughter.

A homecoming for an Iraq soldier was something that was in sight for this Florida wife. With her husband coming home, she was anxious to get there and be for her husband as he arrives back home. There was only one problem with him coming home, and it was the fact that he was going to arrive at Fort Riley, Kansas and this couple lives in Florida. She attempted to call the airlines, rental car services, and even hotels but there has been no help being offered.

A father, mother 3-year-old boy, and 7-month-old boy was forced to leave what they used to call "home" with nothing! The flood wiped out the house, their car, and valuables inside of the house. This Tennessee family is in need of some form of transportation to get around, needing to get the baby to the doctor, the grocery store, and other basic necessities. The father, a self-employed Computer Technician lost all of his repair tools and software in the flood.
